Participants in NAM summit to visit Iran’s nuclear facilities

TEHRAN,Aug.26(MNA) – Participants in the Non-Aligned Movement summit will visit Iran’s nuclear and industrial facilities, the rapporteur of the Majlis National Security and Foreign Policy Committee announced on Saturday. The XVI Summit of the Non-Aligned Movement opened in Tehran today and closes on Friday. MP Hossein Naqavi-Hosseini, who was talking about a meeting between Foreign Minister Ali Akbar Salehi and the members of the Majlis committee on the NAM summit, said that during the meeting the Islamic Republic’s plans to take advantage of the summit to neutralize the sanctions and the conference’s plans in regard to the Syrian crisis, Palestine, the Islamic Awakening, the country’s nuclear program, and the issues of human rights and terrorism were discussed. “The plans for the guests’ visits in the Islamic Republic were also one of the important matters discussed at the meeting. In this relation, Salehi said that tours of nuclear and industrial facilities, cultural and scientific centers, and the places of pilgrimage, which can be chosen by the guests, have been arranged,” he said. A number of foreign officials that will be participating in the summit will meet with the secretary of Iran’s Supreme National Security Council, Saeed Jalili, on the sidelines of the conference.
