PM’s multiple tours in Bangkok, Chachoengsao

BANGKOK, March 20 (TNA) -- Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha paid visits to many places in Bangkok and Chachoengsao provinces including the Lumpini public park in the capital to meet people and follow up government projects. The tour started at the Lumpini park in the morning where Gen Prayut inspected its landscape improvement project. There, he also grew a yellow star plant which is the emblem of King Rama X. The prime minister met park visitors and told them that the park would have better parking lots and the government was developing 30 more green areas in Bangkok. During the visit, reporters asked how he prepared for the general election. Gen Prayut said he did not have any special preparation because he had worked for the country for five years. Whether he would be the prime minister after the election would depend on voters, he said. He did not say if he would join a big campaign speech event of the Palang Pracharath Party on Friday. He declined to answer a reporter’s repeated question as to what he would do if he loses in the general election. He said the question was not of the national interest. Later he went to the headquarters of the Tobacco Authority of Thailand where he was briefed on progress in the 2nd and 3rd stages of the Benjakitti forest park project. Afterwards, Gen Prayut inspected the construction of the Red Line railway (Bang Sue-Rangsit). In the afternoon, the prime minister was scheduled to visit Chachoengsao province to inspect the construction of the Automatic and Tyre Testing, Research and Innovation Center. Besides, he would go to Wat Sothornwararamworawiharn School to be briefed on local projects for the Eastern Economic Corridor scheme and local tourism promotion projects. (TNA)
