PM attends 31st ASEAN Summit

MANILA, Nov 13 (TNA) -- Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha attended the 31st ASEAN Summit set on Nov 13-14 with the theme of “Partnering for Change Engaging the World”, focusing on a people-centred ASEAN Community. Gen Prayut together with leaders of ASEAN member states and dialogue partners attended the summit and related meetings at the Cultural Centre of the Philippines at 9am local time. The summit was intended to emphasize the development of the people-centred ASEAN Community, regional peace, cooperation on marine security and inclusive economic growth. At the Cultural Centre of the Philippines, Gen Prayut attended a plenary session of the ASEAN Summit and a working lunch with the ASEAN Business Advisory Council. He also had a bilateral talk with Myanmar's State Counsellor Aung San Suu Kyi. In the afternoon Gen Prayut attended the ASEAN-United States Summit, the ASEAN-China Summit, the ASEAN-South Korea Summit, the ASEAN-Japan Summit, a meeting of the ASEAN Plus Three and the East Asia Business Council, the Mekong-Japan Summit and the ASEAN-United Nations Summit.
