PM attends Mekong-Lancang meeting in Phnom Penh

BANGKOK, Jan 10 (TNA) -- Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha left for Phnom Penh to attend the 2nd Mekong-Lancang Leaders’ Meeting today to discuss sustainable development and the better life of people in the Mekong Sub-region. His delegation left at the Wing 6 of the air force in Don Muang district, Bangkok, to attend the meeting co-chaired by Cambodia and China. The theme of the meeting is “Our River of Peace and Sustainable Development”. Six countries participated in the meeting. They are China, Cambodia, Laos, Myanmar, Thailand and Vietnam. They were discussing sustainable development and equal life improvement for people in the Mekong Sub-region based on participation, willingness and consensus. Besides, they intended to use modern instruments to develop the sub-region into a centre of economic activities and sustainable development. After the meeting, Gen Prayut was set to return to Bangkok at 10.40pm. (TNA)
