PM calls on Thais to show their kindness on Songkran

BANGKOK, April 13 (TNA) -- Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha calls on Thais to show their kindness to compatriots for the nation’s to prosper on the occasion of Thai traditional New Year or Songkran. Gen Prayut and his cabinet members attended a merit-making ceremony on the eve of Songkran day on Wednesday. They gave alms to 60 Buddhist monks and poured lustral water over Buddha image, a typical Songkran rite, at Government House. Then, Cabinet members, commanders of the armed forces and other top officials paid respect to Gen Prayut. The premier reiterated that he was determined to work for the country and return happiness to Thai people, urging all Thais to care for each other. In a recent survey, Prayut is one of the prominent personalities that most Bangkokians would want to splash water with during the Songkran Festival. Gen Prayut said we all ought to “splash” kindness to one another and join hands together in order to move the nation forward. (TNA)
