PM MEETS WITH MEDIA

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ At his 30 minutes meeting with the media, the Premier N.Altankhuyag Thursday talked about ongoing construction projects and speculated changes in Mongolian language rules.
At the beginning of the meeting, the PM briefed on a newly completed Sainshand--Zamyn-Uud road that was the last part of a paved road network connecting Mongolia to its two neighbors. He also mentioned a newly finished project of Sainshand--Hamryn Hiid Monastery road that has an importance in tourism development.
The Premier talked about a liquid unloading facility expansion project in Zamyn-Uud that will end next month. The expanded unloading facility creates a chance to meet half of its petrol needs of the country from S.Korea and China.
Furthermore, he gave information on a resolution by his Government regarding some improvement in the Mongolian language education. The change is not about removing four alphabet characters, but about enriching the vocabulary and publishing a new grammar dictionary, he said.
The Premier mentioned a need to increase the amount of loans in order to intensify the construction projects.
Ending the meeting, he briefed on the "Street" project, noting that 16 out of 33 crossroad renovations have been completed. A renovated crossroad would recover its project spending within a year, as cars use less fuel when crossing through it, said Mr Altankhuyag.
