PM tells young to make use of social media

BANGKOK, Jan 9 (TNA) -- Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha advised the young to be good, develop themselves, love the nation and make use of social media ahead of the National Children’s Day on Jan 13. He sent his message to 785 children and teenagers who visited Government House on Monday. The young consisted of 550 children and teenagers with good behaviors and 235 others who have made good reputations for the country. Gen Prayut said that the young should be able to distinguish between good and bad contents on social media and use them as long as they were beneficial and necessary. He also advised the young to plan their life well, prioritize their family and apply their knowledge to develop themselves and their communities. Besides, he encouraged the young to conserve Thai cultures and traditions and love the nation, religions and the royal institution because, he said, they are the reasons why the nation has been existing. Gen Prayut also said that people must know and understand laws because the knowledge help support national security. He ordered the Justice Ministry to develop media of simplified law contents for teaching at schools. The prime minister closely greeted the young at Government House, saw their works and projects and received souvenirs from them. Prime Minister's motto for 2018 Children’s Day is “Ability to Think, to Understand, and to be Creative in Technology”. The premier would like Thai children to be aware that they are the nation’s invaluable resources, and should strive to acquire new knowledge and skills, and to use information technology in a constructive manner.
