PM: In terms of foods, Mongolia can be model nation

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ The Prime Minister of Mongolia N.Altankhuyag Thursday addressed the 32nd session of the FAO Regional Conference for Asia and the Pacific running in Ulaanbaatar. Nowadays, many nations "see us as a country based on the mining with a high-growth of economy, but Mongolia has a great opportunity to reach a high development at its agriculture, including the animal husbandry," the Premier said. Mongolia has a possibility to provide the growing need of the global population with safe, nutritious and organic foods "because it has 43 million heads of livestock and 2.8 million population". "A combination of our thousand-year traditional methods of growing livestock and modern technologies can make Mongolia a model exporter and the world reserve of the organic foods,” Mr Altankhuyag stressed.
