Prawit to visit US during April 21-27

BANGKOK, April 20 (TNA) – Deputy Prime Minister/Defence Minister Prawit Wongsuwon will pay an official visit to the United States on April 21-27 as invited by the Department of Defense. Gen Prawit said he would have comprehensive discussions with the US, including cooperation on military training and education. Both countries had had good ties for about a century and the US had been supporting Thailand well, he said. During the visit, he would not raise any issue related to Syria because Thailand had nothing to do with the matter, Gen Prawit said. He also said that the US had not invited a representative of the Thai Defense Ministry to pay a visit for about a decade. The latest invitation was a positive sign for bilateral cooperation, he said. He denied there was any hidden agenda related to the invitation. (TNA)
