Premier meets president of Sumitomo Group

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ While being in Japan with the working visit, the Prime Minister Ch.Saikhanbileg Tuesday received Mr Kuniharu Nakamura, the president and CEO of Sumitomo Group. The sides discussed issues of the Tavantolgoi agreement and matters as the Group has been selected as one of the investors to the Tavantolgoi coal deposit. The Sumitomo Group started business in Mongolia by establishing the Mobicom company in 1995, and this company already has become one of the largest cellular phone operators in Mongolia. Last year, the company requested the Mongolian side to prolong the license, a reply has not been given yet, "in case it is tackled, the company’s service for consumers will improve," emphasized Mr Nakamura. Regarding the Tavantolgoi coal deposit, the Sumitomo bears responsibilities for resolving the financial matters to the mine as well as for managing the market for exporting Tavantolgoi’s coal, Mr Nakamura said and underlined an importance of accelerating the railway issue.
