President meets chairman of Supreme People’s Assembly

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ On the second day of his state visit to the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea (DPRK), the President of Mongolia Ts.Elbegdorj Wednesday met Mr Choi Tae-bok, the chairman of the DPRK Supreme People’s Assembly. Mr Choi noted that by invitation of the Speaker of Mongolian parliament, he visited Mongolia last year and noticed that the Mongolians' attitude to North Korean people is very friendly, "and I believe that You, Mister Elbegdorj, feel the same towards You here". Emphasizing that North Korea is pleased with an economic development and achievements of Mongolia, Mr Choi said his country is putting all efforts to improve people’s livelihood under the leadership of the Marshal. Although their society and politics are not stable yet, they are optimistic about having a success in ensuring peace, it is very important to keep peace for the economic development, and they stand on a position on uniting two Koreas, and the N.Korean side hopes that Mongolia understands and supports it, Mr Choi said. He also expressed a hope that the two countries will deepen their cooperation in the politics, economics, culture, sport and in all other fields, and that the inter-parliamentary ties and cooperation will expand. Then he asked the Mongolian President to train animal husbandry specialists. In response, the President thanked the North Korean leaders and people for warmly receiving him, and said the countries’ leaders bear a duty to keep and expand the bilateral relations that have absorbed efforts of our old generations, and hoped that the sides will develop cooperation that fully meets peoples interests. The main purpose of our economy is to strengthen its domestic productions, "this is an opportunity for us to become independent in terms of economy, therefore I believe our countries will collaborate in many spheres because our goals are same," he said. He also emphasized an importance of the inter-parliamentary ties and added that it is necessary to maintain a frequency of high level visits. The President went on that Mongolia is ready to cooperate with North Korea in the agriculture and animal husbandry sectors, and that it can supply agricultural products such as sea-buckthorn to North Korea. Our countries have helped each other in difficult times, "and now we are ready to give assistance to North Korea", Mr Elbegdorj pointed out. He also said Mongolia has a willingness to train the North Koreans in animal husbandry and to have them work in Mongolia.
