Presidents of Mongolia and Vietnam make official negotiations

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ The President of Mongolia Ts.Elbegdorj and his Vietnamese counterpart Mr Truong Tan Sang made official negotiations on Thursday. The leader of Mongolia talked about newly formed relations between the Justice Ministry of Mongolia and the Public Security Ministry of Vietnam, noting the intergovernmental committee’s contribution in boosting of bilateral ties in economy, trade and investments. Pledging to pay attention to implementation of the projects, agreed upon at the intergovernmental meeting in Hanoi last March, the Mongolian leader emphasized the possible cooperation between the Agriculture Ministries that might include a project on a joint food plant. Furthermore, he urged to intensify a cooperation between the Finance Ministries and related agencies of the two countries, especially a collaboration in reducing the effects of the hidden economy, studying scrutiny methods over money transactions, and enhancing risk management. The President of Mongolia also stressed chances to cooperate in advertising Mongolia-Vietnam traditional friendly relations, their arts and culture to the youth of both countries, along with exchanges of journalists and media employees. Mongolia and Vietnam have possibilities to cooperate in food processing and pharmaceuticals, he went on. The cooperation can be in form of frozen meat imports from Mongolia to Vietnam, and joint medicine production in Mongolia. Mr Elbegdorj also proposed cooperation in mining, education, culture, sports and tourism. He noted chances to launch Ulaanbaatar-Beijing-Hanoi flights that will give a great impetus to the bilateral relations. He thanked the Vietnamese part for fostering their scholarship programs for Mongolian students to study in their country. The Mongolian leader expressed a pleasure for mutual support of the two countries for each other at the international platform. He requested a Vietnamese support in Mongolia's seeking a membership in Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC), and noted the importance of a mutual support within the United Nations (UN) memberships. Mongolia promises to support Vietnam in seeking a non-permanent membership in the UN Security Council in 2020-2021 election and in UN Economic and Social Council in 2018 election. After this Mr Elbegdorj invited the President of Vietnam to visit Mongolia and wished the government and people of Vietnam great successes in the development. The President of Vietnam Truong Tan Sang pledged to support all the initiation and proposals of the Mongolian leader to develop both countries’ relations, and invited Mr Elbegdorj to the signing of cooperation documents.
