Prime minister heads traditional Songkran activities at Government House
BANGKOK, April 11 (TNA) -- Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha led cabinet ministers, chiefs of the armed forces and the police, government officials and reporters in traditional Songkran activities.
They gave alms to 62 Buddhist monks.
Gen Prayut, Deputy Prime Minister/Defence Minister Prawit Wongsuwon, Deputy Prime Minister/Justice Minister Prajin Juntong and Deputy Prime Minister Chatchai Sarikulya traditionally received Songkran wishes and greetings from others.
In the Songkran wish-extension ceremony, Prime Minister’s Office Minister Suwaphan Tanyuvardhana told Gen Prayut that they gathered to show love and respect towards senior people of the country and they, as subordinates, apologized for past offences.
In response, Gen Prayut said the activities represented good tradition and culture of the country and he was grateful for the good wishes he received.
“I see everyone as my family, the government family, who takes care of people. Thank you everyone for your work. Actually I do not see you as subordinates. All are my friends and family who are here to work for other people and the nation so that people are happy and the nation is strong. This is what is always on my mind,” Gen Prayut said. (TNA)
