Prime Minister inspects border trade in Surin

SURIN, May 8 (TNA) -- Thailand’s Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha on Monday visits Chong Chom border pass in Surin province to inspect border trade during his two-day trip for a mobile cabinet meeting. The current trip will also see the premier visiting Buri Ram where he will meet local political figures and supporters as well as holding Cabinet meeting. Gen Prayut met with over 300 provincial officials, customs and security officers at Chong Chom border crossing on Thai-Cambodian border. He was briefed on development projects, border trade and bilateral cooperation between officials in the Thai border province and their Cambodia counterparts. The Prime Minister expressed his morale supports for state officials at the checkpoint and spent time conversing with local villagers. He briefly visited and talked with Cambodian officers stationed on the opposite side. Retreat cabinet meetings are held at places as alternative to the regular meeting at Government House in Bangkok. The meetings give opportunities for the head of government and Cabinet ministers to meet and learn about localities, their problems and needs. The meetin is scheduled this time at Rajabhat Buriram University Tuesday morning. (TNA)
