Prime minister meets Thai officials, businesspeople in Britain

LONDON, June 21 (TNA) – Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha met Thai officials and businesspeople in London and promised to support them and told them to help develop Thailand to be the gateway of Southeast Asia. The meeting was Gen Prayut’s first activity after arriving in Britain. He told Thai officials and businesspeople there that political, security and economic situations were improving in Thailand. He asked them to work at their best to prove that Thailand could be the gateway of Southeast Asia. On the occasion Gen Prayut met representatives of large Thai companies investing in Britain including Thai Beverage and PTT. Representatives of the Thai private sector expressed gratitude towards the prime minister and the government for supporting their investment. They expressed confidence in investing in automotive, energy and food-processing businesses. Gen Prayut was set to visit Britain and France in his June 19-26 trip. (TNA)
