Qashqavi: No Agreement With Canada On Opening Interest Section

Tehran, March 18, IRNA – Deputy Foreign Minister for Consular, Parliamentary and Iranian Expatriates Affairs, Hassan Qashqavi, on Sunday ruled out rumors that an agreement had been reached with Canada on opening interest section. Speaking to reporters on the sidelines of a ceremony marking inauguration of the new building of Foreign Ministryˈs department for consular, parliamentary and Iranian expatriates affairs, Qashqavi said that talks are underway with London to resume consular activities. He said no understanding has been reached with the Canadian government. He said Iran has reached an agreement with the British government to assign Swedish embassy in Tehran to represent British interests and Omani embassy in London to look after Iranian interests in Britain but no such an agreement has been reached with Canada yet./end
