Referendum turnout in southeast Ukraine’s Lugansk tops 75%

LUGANSK, May 11 /ITAR-TASS/. According to latest reports, the turnout at a referendum on self-determination of southeast Ukraine’s Lugansk region “has exceeded 75%” in the regional capital city, representative of the Lugansk referendum press centre Vasily Nikitin told Itar-Tass on Sunday. Voting problems “arise in districts where the army hampers to hold a referendum” in the settlements of Svatovo, Melovoye, Belokurakino and Troitskoye, he noted. Polling stations will be open until 10pm (8pm BST) on Sunday. First referendum results will be announced overnight to Monday. Learn more on itar-tass.com
