Remains of 57 Iranian soldiers found Faw peninsula

TEHRAN, May 13 (MNA) – An official at Iraq’s Human Rights Ministry said that the remains of 57 Iranian soldiers killed during the war in the 1980s in the Faw peninsula in the extreme southeast of Iraq has been discovered. He said that search parties have also discovered the remains of Iraqi soldiers, the al-Nahrain website reported. In 2008, Iran, Iraq, and the International Committee of the Red Cross started implementing a joint plan to determine the fate of the soldiers who went missing during the war and since then the fate of about 2700 missing Iranian soldiers has been decided.
