Reports on execution of Iranian prisoners in S. Arabia not confirmed

TEHRAN, May 31 (MNA) – An official at the Iranian Foreign Ministry said on Wednesday that no Iranian or Saudi Arabian official source, including the two countries’ embassies, have so far confirmed news reports claiming that 10 Iranian nationals have been executed in a prison in the Saudi city of Dammam. On April 22, the Iranian deputy foreign minister for parliamentary and consular affairs, Hassan Qashqavi, announced that Saudi Arabia had granted a stay of execution to a number of Iranian prisoners in Saudi Arabia, who had been sentenced to death for involvement in drug trafficking.
