RI-China Formulate Action Plan to Strengthen Partnership

Beijing, June 12 (Antara) - Indonesia and China are currently chalking out an action plan to strengthen comprehensive strategic partnership, agreed in 2013, for improving relations between the two countries and societies, stated an Indonesian official. "We are formulating an action plan to fill in and give a deeper meaning to the two countries' relations and the comprehensive strategic partnership," Director for Asia Pacific and Africa at the Indonesian Ministry of Foreign Affairs Yuri Oktavian Thamrin remarked here on Friday. He noted that the scope of the comprehensive strategic partnership between the two countries is extensive. "That is what we have to formulate in the action plan to make the comprehensive strategic partnership run smoothly and provide benefits to both countries and their people," Yuri remarked. He pointed out that relations between the two countries, which were established 65 years ago, have certainly been characterized by several ups and downs, but all has gone well. According to Yuri, the relations between the two countries grew stronger following the signing of the Strategic Partnership on April 25, 2005, which was later upgraded to a Comprehensive Strategic Partnership in October 2013.
