Rohani Renews Allegiance To Late Imam Khomeini

Tehran, June 17, IRNA -- President-elect Hassan Rohani renewed allegiance to late Imam Khomeini, the founder of Islamic Republic of Iran, by attending a special ceremony at Imam Khomeiniˈs mausoleum. With 18, 613, 329 votes, Rohani was elected as Iran’s new president in a landslide victory on Friday election. He will officially take office on August 3 after taking oath and receiving a decree from Supreme Leader Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei. Rohani will succeed incumbent president Mahmoud Ahmadinejad as the seventh Iranian president./end
