Rohani Says Upgrading Ties With EP, Priority Of His Govt

Tehran, Sept 9, IRNA – President Hassan Rohani said improving ties with the European Parliament is a priority of his government. He made the remarks in his message to the President of the European Parliament Martin Schulz. Schulz had earlier sent Rohani a message of congratulations on his landslide victory in the June 14 presidential elections. He said making efforts to improve ties with the EP along with other European bodies and removing the existing misunderstandings as well as developing a common understanding based on mutual respect are major objectives of Iran’s foreign policy. He said he would welcome any exchange of views which could help achieve the goal./end
