Russian top diplomat says indivisibility logic is to be applicable to global economic space

MOSCOW, April 18. /TASS/. Global economic space, as well as security should be indivisible, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said on Monday after a meeting with his visiting counterparts from India and China. "Russia proceeds from that fact that the logic of indivisibility is to be applicable not only to the sphere of security but also to the global economic space," he said. "We are being guided by this philosophy in the implementation of the Eurasian integration project, unlike those supporting the idea of ‘closed’ alliances,’" Lavrov said. "We never set the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) in opposition to other integration formats and stand for their harmonization in the interests of pooling resources of all states of Big Asia." The Russian top diplomat said he discussed with his Indian and Chinese counterparts ways of the implementation of Russian President Vladimir Putin’s initiative on the establishment of a broad economic partnership between the Eurasian Economic Union, the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (CSO) and the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) on the principles of equality and reckoning with each other’s interests. "A contribution to these efforts could be consultations between the EAEU and India and EAEU and China on agreeing the groundwork for more favorable conditions for the development of economic space," he said.
