Russian UN ambassador hopes int’l community will not hamper Russia’s efforts towards intra-Syrian dialogue

MOSCOW, February 9. /TASS/. Russia’s Permanent Representative at the United Nations Vitaly Churkin on Monday expressed the hope that international community will not hamper Russia’s efforts to promote intra-Syrian dialogue. "Even the Western colleagues had to spoke in positive terms about Russia’s efforts," he told the Rossiya 24 television channel. "So, a possibility for joint work has not been lost and I know that in Moscow our diplomatic efforts will be continued. Another meeting like the recent one in Moscow will be prepared." The Russian diplomat said he hoped "these meetings will be more substantive and will be joined by those opposition groups that skipped the Moscow meeting and that members of the international community will support these efforts, or, at least, will not hamper them." "I think that there is still room for joint work, but, naturally, the conflict has gone too far and will be more difficult to settle as time goes by.
