Saeedi-Kia elaborates on his presidential election policies

TEHRAN,April 8(MNA) – Presidential candidate Mohammad Saeedi-Kia said that he will include people of all political persuasions in his cabinet if he wins the June presidential election.
During a press conference in Tehran on Sunday, the former minister of housing and urban development said that his electoral slogan will be “peace, national unity and global cooperation”.
Asked whether he would join any coalition in the election, the former minister said that so far no group has suggested that he join a political coalition, emphasizing that he would not withdraw candidacy in favor of any candidate.
Saeedi-Kia also talked about the harms of oil-dependent Iranian economy, saying that oil revenues should be used in the production sector. He added that his future government would seek to reduce reliance on oil revenues and pave the ground for a more competitive economy.
On how he would fund his presidential campaign, Saeedi-Kia said at a proper time he would announce his account number to absorb public funds. However, he said presidential campaign does not require a heavy funding.
He also said that prior to the election he would name a number of persons who would assume key posts in his future government such as vice president, central bank governor, and economy minister.
The former minister went on to say that dignity, wisdom, and national interest would form the cornerstone of his government’s foreign policy.
He added that the country can strengthen its political relations with outside world through proper economic ties.
Saeedi-Kia, a civil engineer, served as Jihad minister in President Hashemi Rafsanjani’s cabinet and housing and urban development minister in President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad’s administration.
