Safety assured for cabinet meetings in far South

BANGKOK, Nov 15 (TNA) -- Deputy Defence Minister Udomdej Sitabutr assured safety for cabinet meetings in Pattani and Songkhla provinces as, he said, security authorities have worked continuously. Gen Udomdej shared his view as the government was preparing cabinet meetings in Pattani and Songkhla on Nov 27 and 28. He said that relevant officials were smoothly planning security measures as guided by Deputy Prime Minister/Defence Minister Prawit Wongsuwon. Security authorities already had good safety measures and some more details could be added. According to Gen Udomdej, the National Economic and Social Development Board and the 4th Army will report development projects and security measures in the far South to the government that will then work out its agenda for the upcoming cabinet meetings in the southern border provinces. He was not concerned about safety, saying that preparation would be special to receive cabinet ministers there. “There are movements from groups especially on social media where information was distorted. But some comments are positive as they give recommendations,” Gen Udomdej said. (TNA)
