Salehi: Iran Supports Stability, Progress, Development Of Iraq

Tehran, July 2, IRNA - Foreign Minister Ali Akbar Salehi on Sunday said Iran does its best to interact with all Iraqi political groups. He made the remarks in a meeting with the Leader of the Iraqi Kurdistan Change Movement (Gorran) Nawshirwan Mustafa Amin in Tehran. Underlining Iran’s transparent stance on Iraqi issue, Salehi said the Islamic Republic supports stability, progress and development of Iraq and does its utmost to interact and consult with all political groups in that country. He also undescored the necessity of further integrity and solidarity of Iraqi political groups for the interests of their people. The foreign minister expressed satisfaction with the current level of ties with Iraqi Kurdistan and expressed Iran’s readiness to continue supporting Iraqi people and further expand ties with them in all infrastructural, economic and trade fields. Mustafa Amin, for his part, expressed pleasure with his visit of Iran and meeting with Salehi and briefed him on political and economic situation of Iraqi Kurdistan. He called for further expansion of ties and interaction with Iran for the sake of Iraqi and Kurdish people./end
