Second phase of $2.6b fraud case trial begins

TEHRAN,Dec.2(MNA) – The second phase of the trial of the defendants accused of involvement in a $2.6 billion financial fraud case has begun, Nasser Seraj, the judge in the case, said in Tehran on Saturday. Seraj stated that the case has 200 defendants, adding that 40 defendants stood trial in the first phase. The Arya Investment Company is at the center of the controversy, and Mah-Afarid Amir-Khosravi, who is one of the main owners of the company, is the number one suspect in the case.
