Self-proclaimed advocates of human rights silent about Myanmar: Iranian top judge

TEHRAN,July 26(MNA) – Iran’s Judiciary Chief Ayatollah Sadeq Amoli Larijani said that self-proclaimed defenders of human rights are silent about the massacre of Muslims in Myanmar.
Speaking at a meeting with high-ranking Judiciary officials on Wednesday, Larijani said, “In a century that claims about human rights are heard everywhere, a generation is placed under pressure and their lives and properties are threatened only because they are Muslim… and organizations and countries, which are self-proclaimed advocates of human rights and adopt a stance even against the killing of animals, are keeping silence (on the issue).”
He also called on Myanmar’s government to pay attention to the situation of Muslims in the country.
