Senior Cuban diplomat eulogizes Turkey

BURSA (A.A) - December 28, 2011 - The Cuban ambassador to Turkey said on Wednesday that Turkey was pursuing a wise policy towards regional problems. Jorge Queseda Concepcion said that his country was closely monitoring problems between Iran and the United States, and defined Iran as a country that had a military and political influence in the region. "Turkey is a part of this region and a country that has historical ties, and it pursues a wise policy towards regional problems," Concepcion told AA correspondent in the northwestern province of Bursa. Concepcion is visiting Bursa within the scope of "Cuban Days" event. "Turkey attaches vital importance to regional problems, and it cares about reactions of people when setting its policies," Concepcion said. Concepcion said Cuba wanted to cooperate with Turkey in biotechnology as it was one of the leading countries in that area. "We are trying to bring to Turkey the medicines and health products Cuba has developed, Concepcion said. Concepcion said Cuba had so useful medicines used in cancer treatment, and expressed hope that Turkey and Cuba could sign a cooperation agreement in this area
