Speaker meets Germany Ambassador

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ The Chairman of the State Great Khural (parliament) Z.Enkhbold Monday received Mr Gerhard Thiedemann, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Federal Republic of Germany (FRG) to Mongolia. Mr Thiedemann thanked the Speaker for the audience and introduced himself, saying he worked abroad as Germany Ambassador six times. He is satisfied with being appointed the Ambassador to Mongolia, he said and expressed a willingness to deepen the mutual trust and bilateral comprehensive partnership relations. In response, the Speaker congratulated Germany’s Ambassador on Bundestag successful election and conveyed congratulatory words to Norbert Lammert on being re-elected the top legislator. Mr Enkhbold expressed a satisfaction with boosting of the inter-parliamentary cooperation and said he is interested in Germany’s election law and legal system. "Our parliamentary delegation led by Ms R.Burmaa MP observed the Bundestag election in Berlin," he noted. The Speaker also asked the Ambassador to back a proposal on setting up the Germany-Mongolia independent group at the Bundestag which will expand the inter-parliamentary ties and cooperation. He hoped that the new Ambassador would significantly contribute to the bilateral relations and cooperation and wished him success. Present at the meeting were R.Burmaa MP, the head of the Standing committee on petitions and head of Mongolia-Germany parliamentary group, and other officials.
