Spokesman: Brahimi To Visit Tehran To Discuss Geneva-2

New York, Oct 26, IRNA – Martin Nesirky, spokesman for UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon declared that special envoy of the secretary general in Syrian affairs will pay a visit to Tehran to consult with Iranian officials on Geneva-2 conference. Martin Nesirky told reporters on Friday that the special envoy will travel to Iran in continuation of his regional visits to consult with influential countries on the issue of Syria. He added that the aim of Lakhdar Brahimi's visit to the countries of the region is reaching to a principle way to end the current Syrian crisis. Nesirky said that the issue of Iran’s presence in the Geneva-2 meeting is one of important issues of Brahimi discussion with Iranian officials. Geneva-2 meeting is to be held in November with participation of Syrian government and opposition groups, but the groups have some differences on attending the meeting./end
