Spokesman Hopes Mursi Will Attend NAM Summit In Tehran

Tehran, July 21, IRNA – Foreign Ministry Spokesman Ramin Mihman-parast said on Friday that Iran hopes Egyptian President Muhamad Mursi will attend NAM Summit in Tehran. Speaking to Iran Newspaper Website, Mihman-parast said that Non-Aligned Movement (NAM) has more than 120 member states and Iran has to to invite all heads of states. He added that majority of invitation letters have reached to heads of member states and sending them have almost been finished. The spokesman predicted that more than 30 presidents will attend the meeting. Concerning President Mursi, he said that Egypt is moving toward a new situation and naturally in this condition President Mursi is more attractive for media and people and we have invited him as one of the main guests of the meeting. Mihman-parast said President Ahmadinejad, in a telephone conversation, invited President Mursi to attend the meeting. He expressed hope that given the transfer of NAM chairmanship from Egypt to Iran, President Mursi would be able to attend the meeting./end
