Sr.German MP Calls For Removal Of Anti-Iran Sanctions

Tehran, March 10, IRNA – Visiting head of German Parliamentˈs Foreign Affairs Committee, Norbert Rottgen, on Sunday called for anti-Iran sanctions to be removed.
In a meeting with deputy head of Majlis (Iranian Parliament) National Security and Foreign Policy Commission, Mansour Haqiqatpour, the German legislator said that German companies are impatiently waiting for the opportunity to participate in Iranˈs great market.
Rottgen said that June 14 presidential election in Iran and President Hassan Rouhaniˈs policy to improve relations with the world have provided an opportunity for enhancement of Iran-Europe ties.
He said that an immediate resolution of the dispute over Iranˈs nuclear program would prepare the ground for expansion of political and economic relations between Tehran and Berlin as well as presence of German companies in Iran.
The Iranian lawmaker, for his part, underlined the importance of Iran-Germany relations in different areas, saying interaction with independent countries based on mutual respect is high on the agenda of Iranˈs foreign policy.
Haqiqatpour called for enhanced parliamentary relations between the two countries.
He described Western propaganda against Iranˈs nuclear activities as ˈunreal and biasedˈ aiming to fuel Iranophobia and to distort the image of Iran in view of the European nations.
Haqiqatpour underlined Iranˈs right to peaceful nuclear technology including enrichment within the framework of international regulations and Non-Proliferation Treaty./end
