STANDING COMMITTEES BACK MINISTERS CANDIDATURES

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ At its meetings on Tuesday, the parliamentary Standing committees on Security and Foreign Policy and on Social Policy, Education, Culture and Science discussed matters on appointing new Ministers proposed by the "Justice" coalition's faction. Chaired by N.Enkhbold MP, the meeting of the Standing committee on Security and Foreign policy, with a participation of 52.6% of members, considered an appointment of Tsolmon Tserendash as the Minister of Defense. A presentation of Mr Tsolmon’s profile was made by the PM Ch.Saikhanbileg. He said Tsolmon is an engineer and a diplomat with "Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary" title, he has served as a member of the government and Ambassadors to countries. There were no inquiries from the committee members, so a majority of the gathered backed Mr Tsolmon's appointment. The same day, the Standing committee on Social Policy, Education, Culture and Science discussed a matter on appointing G.Shiilegdamba the Minister of Health and Sport. This candidacy was presented by the PM and was questioned by Yo.Otgonbayar, G.Bayarsaikhan, J.Batsuuri, Z.Bayanselenge, L.Erdenechimeg, S.Odontuya and Ts.Oyungerel MPs. "Our country’s health sector is in poor condition, so you must dramatically improve its legal environment and run reforms in it," they stressed. A plenary meeting of the parliamentary session is discussing the appointment of new Ministers.
