Supreme Leader urges media to promote culture of consuming domestic goods

TEHRAN, April 4 (MNA) – Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei urged Iran’s media outlets to promote the culture of consuming domestic goods. “Building the culture of consuming domestically manufactured goods requires thought, study, deep insight, (and) planning… and the Islamic Republic of Iran Broadcasting and other media outlets should make serious efforts in this regard,” the Leader said during a meeting with a number of government officials in Tehran on Tuesday. He also highlighted the roles of the parliament and the administration in protecting national production and said, “The Majlis and the administration, through friendly cooperation, should take practical steps to support national production.” The Leader has called the Iranian calendar year 1391, which started on March 20, the year of national production. During the meeting, Ayatollah Khamenei also pointed to the efforts made by the global arrogance (forces of imperialism) to heighten economic pressure on the Islamic Republic and said, “Despite extensive preparations made by dissidents and opponents of the Islamic system, officials and the youth of the country, through their will, faith, vigilance, knowledge of enemies’ potential and efforts… will mobilize all recourses and potential in the country and will fail the hegemonistic bloc once again.”
