Suspected PM’s office hacker turns himself in
BANGKOK, May 10 (TNA) - A 29-year-old suspected hacker, Narongrit Suksarn, who is a native of Nakhon Si Thammarat province in the Thai South, turned himself in to Police Major General Pisit Pao-in, Commander of the Royal Thai Police's Technology Crime Suppression Division on Friday.
Narongrit denied he had recently hacked into an official website run by the permanent secretary of the Prime Minister’s Office and posted a photo of the prime minister with improper messages there, claiming that he was framed by the "Unlimited Hack Team", of which he used to be a member and he offered to teach police about hackers’ techniques.
Police Major General Pisit said police inquired the suspect about ways to collect evidence to nail hackers and would search the suspect’s residence in Bangkok RCA area to collect evidence from his personal computer.
The police have, meanwhile, suspected about 20 capable hackers and will bring them to interrogation, but the police have not found any connection with a big political party so far.
The hack into the Prime Minister’s Office website was spotted at noon on May 8 when reporters opened the page of the Thai Cabinet line-up and found the doctored profile of Premier Yingluck (TNA)
