Syrian Min. For National Reconciliation In Tehran For Talks

Tehran, Aug 26, IRNA – Syrian Minister for National Reconciliation Ali Haidar arrived in Tehran to confer with the country's high ranking officials on issues of mutual interests. Upon his arrival at Mehrabad International Airport, Haidar was welcomed by Iran's Deputy Foreign Minister Amir Mansour Borghei. During his stay, he is to confer with Foreign Minister Ali Akbar Salehi and other officials on issues of mutual interest as well as regional developments. On the sidelines of the 16th NAM summit meeting in Tehran, a special committee has been assigned to explore ways of resolving the Syria crisis through political means. The 16th NAM Summit meeting is slated for August 26-31. The group is to study and prepare grounds for resolving the current crisis in Syria through negotiations. The Ministry for National Reconciliation was established in Syria this year following the formation of new Syrian government headed by a new prime minister. Syrian Deputy Foreign Minister Faisal al-Mikdad heading a delegation arrived in Tehran Saturday afternoon to attend The 16th NAM Summit meeting.
