Tajik police seize 110 kilos of drugs

DUSHANBE, May 13 (Itar-Tass) - Tajik police have seized more than 110 kilograms of drugs in two operations in the north of the country, a record haul in the recent past, the republic's Interior Ministry told Itar-Tass on Tuesday. "Two residents of northern Tajikistan were detained on suspicion of storage, contraband and sale of large amount of narcotics," the ministry's press service said. The haul comprised 78 kilograms of opium, 36 kilograms of hashish and almost two kilograms of heroin. Tajik police confiscated 1.5 tons of drugs in the first four months of 2014.
