Thai Cabinet to hold new mobile meeting in Kanchanaburi

BANGKOK, May 9 (TNA) - The Thai Cabinet is scheduled to hold a new mobile meeting in the country's western Kanchanaburi province from May 19-20. Veera Sriwattanatrakul, Governor of adjacent Prachuap Khiri Khan Province, told journalists Wednesday that his province will seek the Cabinet's approval of a 188-million-baht state budget for 10 local development projects. According to the Prachuap Khiri Khan governor, the 10 provincial development projects include those on coconut pest prevention and elimination, the upgrade of Singkhon border pass into a permanent check-point, the prevention of land erosion along the Gulf of Thailand's western coast, the construction of health promotion and multi-purpose centers, the Saingam-Huay Silatham Road in Hua-Hin seaside district and the Pak Nampran-Baanmai Road, as well as the flood prevention in Hua-Hin, the land preparation for the construction of the Singkhon permanent border pass, the maritime tourism promotion and development in Bangsapannoi district and the upgrade of local jetties into a ferry port to support the local tourism. The Prachuap Khiri Khan governor said that his provincial authorities have already prepared details of the projects to be proposed before the forthcoming mobile Cabinet meeting in Kanchanaburi.
