Thai PM to meet French leader

BANGKOK, June 25 (TNA) -- Prime Minister Gen Prayut Chan-o-cha is on the last day of his official visit to France and is scheduled to meet with the French President later this evening to co-witness the signing of two major agreements. Earlier it the morning (French local time) Gen Prayut met with leading French infrastructure corporations who were interested in investing in Thailand and helped launch the Business Conference event which was jointly organised between the French Employers Council, the Thai Consulate in Paris and the Board of Investment of Thailand. Later in the afternoon (French local time) Gen Prayut is scheduled to meet French President Emmanuel Macron after which a joint statement will be released. Both leaders will then jointly preside over the signing of two major contracts. The first is a co-investment contract between Thai Airways Public Co Ltd and Airbus Commercial Aircraft to setup a regional aircraft maintenance, repair and overhaul at U-Tapao International Airport and the second involves the sale of the Theos-II satellite by Airbus Defence and Space SAS to Geo-Informatics and Space Technology Development Agency (Public Organisation) or GISTDA. Gen Prayut will then board a flight at 8pm French local time and is expected to arrive back in Thailand at 12.30pm on June 26. (TNA)
