Thai PM promises to improve people’s life
BANGKOK, February 21 (TNA) - Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra visited Thailand's northeastern Loei Province Tuesday, when she told local villagers that her government has implemented measures to solve economic problems in order to improve quality of life of all Thai people.
Accompanied by Deputy Prime Minister and Interior Minister Yongyuth Wichaidit and Justice Minister Pracha Promnok, Yingluck told a gathering of local people that her government would continue addressing economic issues and speed up major projects, including the rice mortgage scheme, drought-relief programs and a new women development fund, as well as a plan to enhance local communities' potential.
The female Pheu Thai premier encouraged all Thai women to become members of the official women development fund, suggesting that, with access to the fund, Thai women could improve their quality of life.
The prime minister, who was welcomed by Natural Resources and Environment Minister Preecha Rengsomboonsuk, Permanent Secretary for Interior Phranai Suwannarat, Loei governor Sompong Arunlertpanya, as well as local officials and villagers, also saw an exhibition of a local women’s organization, before leading her team to board army helicopters to visit the Phu Kradung National Park for a survey mission.
