Thai PM visits Europe
BANGKOK, June 19 (TNA) – Thai Prime Minister will leave Bangkok tonight for Europe to boost ties and trade with England and France.
Accompanied by his wife, he is scheduled to visit England and France from June 19-26.
Weerachon Sukhonthapatipak, deputy government spokesman said Gen Prayut will meet British Prime Minister Theresa May on June 20 and will open a seminar, "Transforming Thailand", in London on June 21 to convey the Thai government’s visions to Thai and British businesspeople.
He will meet Rolls-Royce president and observe human resource development in the digital industries of Pearson Plc, a British multinational publishing and education company.
Somkid Jatusripitak, deputy prime minister in charge of economic affairs will lead Thai private sector to meet their counterparts in England and France in parallel activities.
In France, the Thai leader is scheduled to meet President Emmanuel Macron and Airbus Commercial Aircraft president Guillaume Faury.
The two leaders will witness the signing of a joint venture company principles agreement between Airbus and Thai Airways on maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) and the purchasing contract of the THEOS II satellite between the Geo-Informatics and Space Technology Development Agency and Airbus Defence & Space SAS.
Weerachon said the prime minister’s European trip will promote investment in Thailand, particularly in the Eastern Economic Corridor (EEC) to establish the Airbus’s MRO in Thailand and the purchase of THEOS II will facilitate weather forecast to help farmers increase their production. (TNA)
