Thailand urges North Korea to stop provocative actions
BANGKOK, Dec 2 (TNA) -- Thailand’s Foreign Affairs Ministry has denounced a recent missile test by North Korea and urged that country to respect the United Nations Security Council (UNSC) Resolutions.
The Ministry on Friday released a statement denouncing the Intercontinental Ballistic Missile Test launched by North Korea on Wednesday.
The test had “once again heightened tension in the region and threatened international peace and security,” said the statement.
“This test is a clear violation of the relevant UNSC Resolutions and will only result in further isolation of North Korea,” it said.
“Thailand strongly urges North Korea to cease all provocative actions and respect the relevant UNSC Resolutions, and return to dialogue,” said the statement.
Urging all parties to exercise restraint, the Ministry asked concerned countries to work towards finding a peaceful solution to the situation in the Korean Peninsula. (TNA)
