Thailand's advance voting set on Jan 26
BANGKOK, December 21 (TNA) - The Election Commission of Thailand (EC) has set January 26, 2014 as the advance election date for eligible voters who are unable to cast their votes on the new general election date, set on February 2, 2014, covering those living or working in provinces out of their hometowns.
Election Commissioner Somchai Srisutthiyakorn told reporters on Saturday (Dec 21) that Thai eligible voters wishing to cast their ballots for the upcoming general election in advance can register themselves with their district offices, where their houses are registered, from January 13-17, 2014.
Somchai said eligible voters living or working in other provinces and wishing to exercise their election rights can also register themselves in advance to district officers where they presently stay from December 23, 2013 to January 2, 2014.
Meanwhile, officials at the Thai-Japanese Stadium in Bangkok's Din Daeng area have started preparing seats for election candidates running under the party-list system for the February 2 nationwide poll, as the registration for party-list candidates has been set from December 23-27, 2013. (TNA)
