Turkey in 11 languages
ANKARA (A.A) - 23.03.2011 - General Directorate of Press & Information (BYEGM) prepared a book to introduce Turkey in economic, political and cultural terms to foreign world.
The book, "Turkey", was published in 11 languages this year.
BYEGM released a written statement and said the book aimed at introducing Turkey's constitutional and legal order, political and democratic structure, essential principles, various institutions, natural beauties as well as its social, cultural and historical features.
The book was prepared in English, French, German, Arabic, Russian, Japanese, Spanish, Portuguese, Chinese, and Persian languages.
The book was translated into Vietnamese language in 2006.
The book is particularly sent to science, culture, politics, diplomacy, media and artistic environments abroad and distributed as introductory book in conferences, symposiums, seminars, meetings and cultural activities outside Turkey.
The statement said the book included the comprehensive constitutional amendments made in Turkey and issues within democratic move process.
The book also attaches high importance to foreign policy matters like relations with the European Union, Iraq, the United States and the Middle Eastern countries. Also the part about "baseless Armenian allegations regarding 1915 incidents" has historical and scientific perspective.
