Turkey collects 289.7 million TL donations for Somalia

ANKARA (A.A) - August 22, 2011 - 289.7 million Turkish liras (TL) (approx. 161.9 million USD) have been collected in donations for Somalia in Turkey as of 17.00 hours on Monday, the Turkish Prime Ministry Disaster & Emergency Management Directorate (AFAD) announced.
In a written statement released Monday, AFAD said that Turkey has so far sent 8 planes and 3 ships load of humanitarian assistance to famine stricken Somalia.
