Turkish and French ministers meet over luncheon
ANKARA (A.A) - 24.03.2011 - Turkish State Minister & Chief Negotiator for EU talks Egemen Bagis hosted a luncheon in honor of Pierre Lellouche, French Secretary of State for Foreign Trade, in capital Ankara on Thursday.
Bagis said that Lellouche had always supported Turkey's EU membership at French Parliament, and recalled that Lellouche had been the minister for European affairs until two months before.
Bagis said that Lellouche was now responsible for foreign trade of his country and he would hold meetings in Turkey within that scope.
Lellouche said that relations between Turkey and France had been continuing more than 500 years, adding that the two countries were allies despite difference of opinions in some issues.
Noting that he aimed to help develop the relations between the companies of the two countries, Lellouche said that nearly 400 French companies were operating in Turkey, and there was a great business potential in the country.
He said that they wanted to increase the trade volume between Turkey and France to 15 billion Euro within the next few years.
