Turkish Cypriot president leaves for Switzerland


ISTANBUL (A.A) - July 6, 2011 - President Dervis Eroglu of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) departed from Turkey to Switzerland on Tuesday.
Eroglu completed his talks in Turkey's capital Ankara, proceeded to Istanbul and left for Geneva to attend a tripartite meeting with UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon and Greek Cypriot leader Demetris Christofias.
The tripartite meeting will take place on July 7, and Eroglu is expected to return to TRNC on July 8.
During his stay in Ankara, Eroglu held meetings with Turkish President Abdullah Gul, Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan and Foreign Minister Ahmet Davutoglu.
Talks, which aim to find a solution to Cyprus problem, began in September of 2008. So far, Ban, Eroglu and Christofias had held tripartite meetings in New York on November 18, 2010 and in Geneva on January 26, 2011.
