Turkish deputy premier says Turkey endeavors for recognition of Kosovo
PRISTINA (A.A) - August 11, 2011 - Turkish Deputy Prime Minister Bulent Arinc said on Thursday that Turkey was endeavoring for recognition of Kosovo.
Arinc and Deputy Prime Minister of Kosovo Hajredin Kuci appeared at a joint news conference after co-chairing talks between the delegations of Turkey and Kosovo.
Referring to perfect relations between Turkey and Kosovo, Arinc said, "Turkey is exerting great efforts for recognition of Kosovo. This number is 77 countries for now, but it will definitely rise."
"Turkey attaches high importance to territorial integrity of Kosovo. Kosovo's tranquility, security and economic development are very important for us. It is very important that Kosovo should integrate with the European Atlantic organizations and establish relations. Relations between Turkish Parliament and Parliament of Kosovo are perfect. There is a very important friendship group in the parliament regarding Kosovo," he said.
Referring to the role of Turkish contractors and businessmen in economic development of Kosovo, Arinc said, "we are at a good point regarding motorways, airports and other sectors. Turkey's economy has achieved a great success in the past years. Turkey has come to a very strong point in contracting services and foreign investments. We are willing to share Turkey's experiences with Kosovo. Turkish International Cooperation and Development Agency restores cultural and historical assets in Kosovo."
Arinc also met Kosovo's Prime Minister Hashim Thaci, Minister of Public Administration Mahir Yagcilar, and Naim Ternava, the head of the Kosovo Islamic Community.
